Dr. Ling Fu is currently a professor in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), the Assistant Director for Graduate & International Relations of Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics(WNLO

Dr. Ling Fu received her BS degree in Optoelectronic Instrumentation and Technology in 1999, and the ME degree in Physical Electronics in 2002 from HUST. She gained her PhD in Swinburne University of Technology in Australia in 2007 with a thesis titled “Fiber-optic nonlinear optical endoscopy” and classified as being of the highest order. She has joined the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics in 2007. Dr. Ling Fu was elected as the New Century Excellent Talents in University by the Ministry of Education in 2008.

Dr. Ling Fu is the leader of in vivo Optical Microscopy Laboratory. Her research interest is optical microscopy and its applications to biomedicine. Nonlinear optical microscopy based on multi-photon absorption and higher harmonic generation has provided spectacular sights into visualization of cellular events within live tissue. Her group aims to develop real-time nonlinear optical imaging approaches to monitor how molecules work and cells interact in their natural environment. She has published papers on Optics Letters, Optics Express, Journal of Biomedical Optics, Applied Optics et al. as the first author and the corresponding author.

Dr. Ling Fu serves as an assistant editor in Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences. She is an International Council member of Optical Society of America (OSA), a senior member of Chinese Optical Society (COS) and serves as the leader of youth working team in Biomedical Photonics Committee in COS. She is also the Chair of Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Photonics and Imaging in Biology and Medicine (PIBM) in 2009 and 2010.
