Zhan Mingsheng
Male, born in 1961, research fellow. He got the Ph. D. in science from
Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Science
in 1988, conducted his postdoctoral research in Japan from 1988 to
1991, has conducted cooperative researches of totally more than 20
months in institutes, such as RIKEN, Blackett Laboratory, Imperial
College London, UK and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since 1995
and was an EPSRC Senior Fellow of UK and was hired as a short-term
professor by Imperial College London. In recent years, he has focused
his research on cold atom physics and quantum information based on atom.
He has set up a cold atom experimental and research platform in Wuhan,
realized the bichromatic electromagnetically induced transparency of
cold atoms, cold atom interferometers and Ramsey interference pattern,
trapping of BEC of atom Rb and single neutral atom Rb. He has also taken
charge of national projects, such as National “973” Program, key
projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and significant
and key projects of Chinese Academy of Science.
He won the special allowance of Anhui Province Government in 1993, was
selected into “Hundred Talents Plan in China” of Chinese Academy of
Science, won the special allowance from government in 1996 and was
selected as Provincial Model Worker of Hubei Province in 2002.
