Prof. Changsheng Xie is the deputy Director of the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics. He is also the Director of the Data Storage Systems Laboratory (the key laboratory of Ministry of Education of China) and the professor in the School of Computer Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He is the vice chair of the expert committee of Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), China.

 

Prof. Xie’s research has been in the fields of networking storage system,optical and magnetic data storage technologies. He is now interested in cloud storage and Big Data technologies. He has either authored or co-authored over 150 major technical journal papers and four book chapters and has given over 20 invited talks at various international conferences. He holds 20 patents. Some technologies developed by his group have been transferred to industry.

 

Over the past 10 years, Professor Xie has graduated 18 Ph.D. students and more than 40 M.S. students. Virtually some of them are currently employed in the computer and the data storage industry and many of them are in important management positions in various companies. Some of the students got the position of professor in universities.

 

Professor Xie is a recipient of the National Technology Invention Award of China. He received the Teaching Excellence Awards from Ministry of Education of China. He also received the “most respectable teacher” Award from the Graduate Student Association of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
