Research Areas

During doctoral and postdocor career, Xiuli LIU has taken advantage of two-photon imaging to look at some interesting questions, such as neuronal calcium signals, dendritic spines, dynamics of olfactory-bulb neuronal circuits and neural activities stimulatde by femtosecond laser. These works has been published on Applied Physics Letters and Joural of Biomedical optics. Recently, she has continued to focus on struture and functional imaging of whole-brain neural networks combined with fluorescence dyes and virus-fluorescence protein labeling techniques.
